Referral Programme Terms

Last updated 8 September 2026 Version 2026-09-08

These terms govern the BonHand referral programme. They sit alongside the main Terms of Service, which continue to apply. We can change or end the programme at any time; a change does not affect a reward that has already been paid.

Who can take part

Every BonHand account has a referral link. You can share it, and you can also read your code aloud so someone types it in when they sign up. Both routes are the same programme.

  • You cannot refer yourself. Signing up a second account with your own code earns nothing.
  • A person can be referred once. The first valid code wins; a later one is ignored.
  • The person you refer must be genuinely new to BonHand. Referring an existing account, or someone acting on your behalf, does not count.
2

What counts as a successful referral

A referral succeeds when the person you referred starts a paid subscription and their first subscription payment clears. A free account never qualifies, because nothing has been paid.

The reward is calculated at that moment and does not change afterwards if either of you later switches plan.

3

The reward

When a referral succeeds, both you and the person you referred receive account credit equal to one month of their plan at its standard list price. Starter earns one month of Starter; Growth earns one month of Growth. The credit is the same on both sides and is not affected by any discount either of you has.

The credit is applied to your Stripe account balance and comes off your next invoice automatically. It is account credit, not cash: it cannot be transferred, withdrawn, or refunded, and it has no value outside your BonHand subscription. Credits stack, so several successful referrals build up.

4

The 30-day hold

Credit is posted 30 days after the referral succeeds, not immediately. If the person you referred cancels their subscription before the 30 days are up, the referral does not pay out.

5

When a reward can be taken back

If the payment that made a referral succeed is later refunded or charged back, the referral is reversed. If this happens before the credit has been posted, it is simply cancelled. If it happens after, we remove the same amount of credit from both accounts, which may show as a higher amount due on your next invoice, and we email both of you to explain.

We may also withhold or reverse a reward, and remove a referral link, where we reasonably believe the programme is being abused.

6

Changes to the programme

We may change the reward, the hold period, the qualifying conditions, or any other part of the programme, and we may end the programme entirely, at any time and without notice. A change takes effect from when it is published here and does not claw back a reward that has already been paid.

These terms sit alongside the Terms of Service, which continue to apply.
